2009 CLASS PERFORMANCE
12 weeks & 30 hours of training
AMATEURS -- Must be at least Intermediate Dancer. No Performance experience necessary
SEMIPRO
-- Must be Intermediate/advanced Dancer with the capability of picking up
choreography and performance experience is a plus.
IMPORTANT: If you do not dance on2 but is an Inter/advanced dancer on1 you can still join the class with the following requirement.
-Must be able to pick up choreography quickly
-Must know how to count movement well.
WHAT WILL BE COVERED:
Partnering, footwork, body movement, Afro-Caribbean/Cuban and
performance
quality. Focusing on techniques and drills that all dancers should use
to increase their versatility as a performer. Includes learning how to
take fundamental movement and make more than just the basics.
Dancers
will be helped to increase their ability to use different rhythms
inside of the basic count structure of 1.2.3.4.5.6.7.8. Learn to
incorporate fundamentals from other dances such as hip hop, jazz,
ballroom, etc., that will also be used in some of the choreography now
and in any future experiences.
WHAT IF I CAN'T FIND A PARTNER:
It
is always best to find your own partner but if you can't, that is ok
too. We are asking all those who would like to participate to send us
an email. We will test people out with each other the first few weeks
and we will decide who fits best with who. After we have done so please
note that unless someone else is willing to give up their partner we
cannot make any partner changes.
PERFORMANCES: Guaranteed atleast 3 performances at local venues.
LOCATION: Academy Ballroom
PRICE: $250 for single and $400 for a couple

AUDITIONS-JAN. 4th
REQUIREMENTS:
--DON'T NEED TO KNOW HOW TO DANCE ON2. I will be training you on2
--MUST BE PROFICIENT in Any Salsa Style or A dancer of another style that picks up choreography quickly.
--ANY KIND of performance experience and/or other dance experience a MUST.
OR If you feel you have presence and confidence in your body SHOW ME WHAT YOU GOT GIRL!
GOALS:
-FORM A TOP FEMALE TEAM
-TRAIN HARD CORE
-To create a team that is CLEAN, SHARP, EXCELLENT TECHNIQUELY, IMPECCABLE PRESENCE & INSPIRING
-Opportunity to make money.
-Take you to travel with me
-Perform with me
-WILL INCLUDE instructor and/or assistant Training to me
PERFORMING:
-Will be working on incorporating more than just Salsa/Mambo. Contemporary, Jazz, Hip Hop, AfroCuban, etc.
-Perform in the Atlanta and outside the Atlanta area
-Take you to travel with me
-Perform with me
TIME COMMITMENT: 6 months
PRICE: $50 monthly
WHEN & WHERE: Mondays @ Several Dancers Core
7:00 -8pm Las Bravas Rehearsal ONLY
8:00-9:00pm Training
9pm - 10:30pm Help with Amateurs and/or rehearsing
10:30 - 11pm Rehearsing
FRINGE BENEFITS: You
will have a chance to take any of my other classes FREE EXCEPTION: If the Class/Event is shared with another instructor cost will be at a discounted rate unless you are working the class/event.
MISC:
-Contracts will be included
-Costumes -- we will have fundraisers to help with cost of costumes.
-First
month
is
trial period-w/option to not continue. Meaning: If you decide
to leave before the 1st month is over. No problem! If it is after the
1st month and you do not want to continue, I cannot force
you to stay but you will be held liable financially. I will only
release anyone from their contract under Emergency Circumstances.

FREE TRAINING
SPECIAL SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITY
I'm
always looking for a way to pay it forward. I have decided to to give
the opportunity to someone who would REALLY like to be part of one of
the teams who cannot afford it but has a GREAT passion for dancing.
So, What does this mean? I will be taking applications for 1 Amateur
and 1 SemiPro to Pro as a scholarship student.
This will be the process:
1-Send me an email before Jan. 4th stating you are interested.
2-I will send you an application to fill out.
3-You
will be required to send a short paragraph stating why you want to be
on the team and why you believe you should be the scholarship student.
Include details of how you started dancing Salsa/Mambo, dance
experience, inspirations to dance and why you have financial troubles.
4-Come Jan. 4th for Performance Class or Audition.
5-From there we will set up a time for an interview.
